Terms of use

Founder Arena ("Founder Arena", "we", "us") runs this website and the Founder Arena competition. You can reach us at hello@founderarena.app.

You must be at least 18 to create an account. Give accurate information, including your real legal name, and keep it up to date. Each person may have one account.

Your username is public: it appears on the leaderboard and on stream. It must not impersonate anyone, mislead people, or be offensive, and we may ask you to change it or change it ourselves.

Keep your password safe and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

Don't use the site to break the law or harm anyone. In particular, don't:

• try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or disrupt, overload or probe the site's security;
• scrape or copy the site in bulk, or use bots to create accounts or applications;
• try to influence or manipulate the AI screener, the scores or the leaderboard, for example with hidden instructions in your answers or deck;
• upload malware, unlawful or infringing material, or other people's personal information;
• harass, threaten or abuse the judges, other founders or anyone else involved.

You keep ownership of what you submit. You give Founder Arena the permissions described in the Competition Rules, including to show your application on stream under your username.

You confirm you have the right to submit it and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights. Don't submit confidential information: applications are not treated as confidential.

Applications are scored by an AI model, and the judges receive an AI-written summary of each one. These are automated assessments that can be wrong or change when an application is scored again. They are not decisions about who advances or who receives funding; the judges make those decisions.

The Founder Arena name, logo, site design and our own content belong to us. You may share links to the site and to published content, but don't copy or reuse our content or brand in a way that suggests you're us or that we endorse you.

Nothing on the site is investment, legal or financial advice, or an offer to buy or sell securities. Any funding is offered only under a separate written agreement, as described in the Competition Rules.

We aim to keep the site running, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", and we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or secure. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it.

You use the site and take part in the competition at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Founder Arena, its judges and its team have no liability to you for any loss or damage of any kind arising from the site or the competition, including direct, indirect or consequential losses, lost profits and lost data.

Some laws don't allow liability to be excluded completely. Where that's the case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Competition Rules. You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing us; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your information.

We may update these terms. We'll show the date of the latest version here, and for important changes we'll tell you on the site or by email. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario. This doesn't take away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
